Career Opportunity : Electrical - Controls Engineering Manager
This is a Management position.
Position Description
The Electrical - Controls Engineering Manager is responsible for designing and engineering electrical systems and components used in B & H labeling systems. This includes executing engineering calculations, creating schematics and drawings, compiling bills of materials, and identifying and qualifying vendors. The position also includes writing, installing debugging equipment programs, and monitoring the build-up of equipment on the shop floor to verify functionality and overall quality.
This is a Full Time position based in Ceres, CA.
Responsibilities of the position include:
* Developing and diagramming logic systems for PLC, Servo, MMI, etc, including writing and maintaining programs for PLC and motion control applications.
* Developing and maintaining program revision records, and maintaining a comprehensive program directory of all programs and program revisions operating on B & H labelers
* Designing electrical systems, operator interfaces, and other machine control components and devices, and generating assembly drawings and schematics.
* Applying continuous improvement processes and programs that improve the performance, or lower the costs of B & H labeling systems.
* Organizing, maintaining, and managing the Engineering product library and software including implementing software updates and upgrades.
* Communicating and cooperating routinely and effectively with other functional areas including Field Service and Operations.
* Supporting Field Service Department with programming, debugging, and installation of equipment via 24/7 On-Call telephone and internet remote access.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is preferred.
Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment are required.
Three to five years experience with PLCs, servo motion control systems, HMIs and other electrical components is preferred.
CAD system experience is required, and Pro/E and AutoCAD experience is preferred.
Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills are required.
Ability to read and understand blueprints is required.
Strong attention to detail is required.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
The ideal candidate must be organized, dependable, and able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls and components is desirable.
U.S. citizenship, or the ability to work in the U.S. for reasons other than practical training is required.
Knowledge of personal computers, Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is required.
