Career Opportunity : Field Service Engineer
This is a Field Service position.
Position Description
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing technical service in support of B & H labelers in a wide variety of customer locations. These technical services include new labeler installation and training, and troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, repair, service, support and training for older installed B & H labelers.
The Field Service Engineer must be located near a major airline hub airport within the United States. Dallas, Chicago, St. Louis and Memphis are preferred locations.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Successfully completing an in-depth technical training program on B & H labeling equipment.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing installed B & H labeling equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance services on installed B & H labeling equipment
- Installing new B & H labeling equipment, including labeler start-up and training.
- Conducting training programs for installed B & H labeling equipment.
- Auditing the condition of installed B & H equipment, and recommending parts and service needed to bring machines back into full operating condition.
- Documenting provided services in written reports and keeping accurate records of time and services provided.
- Selling and implementing Preventative Maintenance Service Programs.
- Auditing customers' spare parts inventories, and making recommendations regarding appropriate inventory items and quantities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electronic technology is preferred. A two year technical degree in electronic technology is a minimum requirement.
Strong problem solving skills are essential.
Strong electronic troubleshooting skills are required.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude are required.
Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.
Must he responsible and ethical, and have the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens controls is desirable.
Experience with labeling equipment is desirable.
Ability to travel up to 90% is required.
Knowledge of laptops, Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is a definite plus.
