Position Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing equipment and components used in B & H labeling systems. This includes executing engineering calculations, creating drawings, compiling bills of materials, and identifying and qualifying vendors. The position also develops plans and timelines for the completion of design projects, and monitors the build-up of equipment on the shop floor to verify functionality and overall quality. The position confers with Sales and Operations regarding design specifications, project timing and project budgets.

This is a Full Time position based in Ceres, CA.

Responsibilities of the position include:

* Designing and engineering labeling equipment and change parts.

* Applying engineering design disciplines that promote ease of manufacturing and assembly.

* Applying continuous improvement processes and programs that improve the performance, or lower the costs of B & H labeling systems.

* Developing project plans and schedules, and completing projects on-time, and on or under budget.

* Developing and maintaining accurate and complete bills of materials (BOMs).

* Organizing, maintaining and managing engineering product library and project files.

* Communicating and cooperating with project teams, and with Engineering and Operations personnel.

* Providing telephone engineering support to Field Service Engineers working on equipment in the field.

* Producing prints for other departments, including Inside Sales, as necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred.

Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment are required.

CAD system experience is required, and Pro/E and AutoCAD experience is preferred.

Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills are required.

Ability to read and understand blueprints is required.

Strong attention to detail is required.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.

The ideal candidate must be organized, dependable, and able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

U.S. citizenship, or the ability to work in the U.S. for reasons other than practical training is required.

Knowledge of personal computers, Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is required.
